The upside for me is that it is now lightning fast and I an play the Steam version in full 4k on my large monitor, and also that I also have a larger screen for sim play. I have gotten LiDAR data for a lot of courses around here locally and want to work on designing those courses, so, not wanting to take forever to place each object, I broke down and bought a gaming laptop to use with TGC 2019. I generally have the graphics set to 1920 x 1080 and since I had it attached to a 32 inch 4k monitor, I didn't really want to scale it down much more than that. It was ok for design although it did take a long time when placing objects, however, when I tried playtesting the holes while in the designer, it became very choppy and unplayable. However, my issue was when I was working with the course designer. It was definitely playable and I didn't really have any issues in sim mode at the default graphics setting.

I had been running TGC 2019 on Windows 10 under BootCamp with my late 2017 MBP that was totally maxed out (i5 chip, 16 GB RAM, etc.), but, alas, it just wasn't enough. It would get a little choppy sometimes and the fans were roaring put totally playable!!!! I mean for a 2013 MacBook Pro to do this is pretty promising!

UPDATE: I just played it in Full Screen with 720p resolution and Low/Mid Settings and wasn't even bad. Pretty cool though with Parallels you could have the Golf Club icon in the dock and just click to launch it like any other app. And if you had a newer MacBook Pro with the way better than mine GPU's I'm sure you could really bump up the graphics settings. I had the settings down low for the first test. I was even running the screen recorder on the Mac side to make the video. That's right! I was running it under Windows Simulation Software simultaneously on my Mac side. So after adjusting some settings my 2013 MacBook Pro ran The Golf Club (R-Motion version) under Parallels simulation software with Windows 10. So I had to try it out on my 6 year old MacBook with surprising results. You needed to run The Golf Club under bootcamp and boot into the Windows side to run it. That said, I have a 42" tv that's begging to be hooked up to a dedicated PC.I read this couldn't be done. The mrs wants an iPad for the kitchen and cooking recipes so I am leaning toward an iPad Pro at the moment. Of course there are probably stand alone pc's that you can buy for around the cost of an iPad as well. If you already have a newer mac you could consider running windows.I think you have to shut the computer down and then boot up and select which operating system to run. You are pretty much limited to iPad/phone and PC. Thanks!I don't think you can run it on iOS (other than the iPhone/iPads). I don't really understand why it shouldn't be possible and would rather not spend another several hundred dollars on a new Ipad.Īny help or reference to upcoming firmware/software updates is greatly appreciated. I tried a forum search but wasn't really too successful.

I was wondering if it was possible to somehow connect the Skytrak to a Macbook Pro or any other Mac computer (without having to run Windows on it). So I figured this would be a good time to join this great forum and get some advice.

I am new to this forum, currently thinking about setting up a hitting net in my room and also close to pulling the trigger on a SkyTrak.
